Hormonal change is the primary cause of acne. When our hormones increase our sebaceous glands enlarges, producing too much or excess oils called “sebum”. This excess oils along with dead skin cells clogs the follicles commonly known as pores. Unstable hormone levels are common in teenagers during adolescence stage and pregnant women. Let us focus on pregnancy. How does this skin problem develop, why it arises, when does it occur, and how it would be treated if you are an expecting mother?
First, if you do experience breakouts it is because of an increased level of androgenic hormones like progesterone in your body.
